Hi, I’m Sara.

I’m a counsellor based in Cape Town, working with thoughtful, capable women who are often holding more than they let on.

My approach is warm, steady, and psychologically grounded. Together, we make space for what feels tangled, overwhelming, or difficult to name — without pressure to analyse, perform, or have everything neatly figured out.

Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful, and gently direct. I’m interested in depth — not drama. Understanding — not quick fixes.

My work centres on helping women return to themselves in a grounded, steady way. Not through advice or forced positivity, but through careful exploration and emotional awareness.

I pay close attention to patterns — where they began, how they once protected you, and whether they still serve you now. We move at a pace that allows insight to become felt and integrated, not just understood intellectually.

Where helpful, I may introduce brief moments of guided awareness, including simple breath awareness, to support nervous system regulation and internal steadiness. These practices are practical and psychologically informed — never ceremonial.

Professional Background

I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology from the University of Toronto (2004).

In 2018, I completed an 18-month postgraduate qualification in Counselling and Communication through SACAP, which included supervised practice hours and a counselling work placement.

I am also an Advanced Pneumanity Breathwork Practitioner, having completed a year-long professional training through Breathwork Africa (2021–2022), recognised by the Global Breathwork Professional Alliance (GBPA).

I am registered as a Specialist Wellness Counsellor with the ASCHP and work within my professional scope. Where assessment, diagnosis, or medication support may be required, I refer clients to psychologists or psychiatrists.

I have worked in both community and private practice settings, including at Hope House in Kuils River, supporting individuals navigating relational challenges, emotional overwhelm, grief, and life transitions.

My work is informed by psychodynamic, relational, and person-centred approaches. I integrate mindfulness and regulation practices where helpful, always within a grounded, clinically responsible framework.
